I turned 40 this year and, apparently, no one told my face. I genuinely believed that once you hit your 40s, breakouts were done with you. That is some disclaimer I was not prepared for. A couple weeks ago I had three pimples at once — forehead, jaw, the whole tour — and that's exactly the moment my Ulike Reglow mask earned its keep.

I bought this at the same time as my Ulike Air 10, back in January or February, right before life went completely sideways with my dad. I had big plans to document the whole journey. Instead, it became the thing I do quietly, at night, while everything else is on fire — and it turns out that's exactly when a five-minute act of self-care matters most.
What It Actually Is
It's an LED light therapy mask with four color-blend modes, not just one or two: Glow Mode, Firm Mode, Rejuvenate Mode, and Clear Mode. Each one mixes different wavelengths — red, blue, yellow, and infrared — for a different skin goal, in sessions that run 5 to 8 minutes depending on the mode. You charge the pack, plug in the cord, and press the button to cycle through them. I haven't fully clocked how long a charge lasts (I'm guessing 5 or 6 uses), but the fact that it detaches from the wall once it's charged means I'm not stuck sitting next to an outlet for however long a session runs.

I mostly live in two of the four modes, but for anyone curious what the others do: Glow Mode is a 5-minute yellow, red, and infrared blend meant to brighten dullness and even out tone. Rejuvenate Mode runs 8 minutes and is built to calm redness and strengthen a sensitive or irritated skin barrier. Both are on my list to actually try instead of defaulting to the same two every time.
The Stormtrooper Problem
I will be honest: this thing looks ridiculous. My husband and I will be getting ready for bed, laying down to watch TV, and I'll put this on and the glow reflects off the wall, off our old dresser mirror leaning on the floor — the whole room lights up whatever color I picked. I look exactly like a stormtrooper. It's funny every single time. It hasn't stopped me from wearing it downstairs at my desk while I work on Etsy stuff, or even walking around the house doing laundry with it strapped to my face. If it works, I genuinely do not care how it looks.
Why I Reach For Firm Mode
Firm Mode — the red and infrared blend — is the one I use most. It's built to stimulate collagen and soften fine lines, which matters to me because, again, I'm 40, and I am doing everything I reasonably can to take care of my skin. That session runs about 8 minutes, which is nothing compared to how often I end up wearing it because I forget to take it off. Between that and my regular routine (moisturizer, toner, vitamin C, retinol), it's one more layer of "I am trying," even on the nights I have zero energy left for anything more elaborate.
When The Breakouts Hit: Clear Mode
This is where Clear Mode comes in — blue, red, and infrared blend, a quicker 5-minute session aimed at acne-causing bacteria and inflammation. I really thought adult breakouts were a myth someone made up to torment teenagers into thinking it gets better. It does not get better, apparently, it just relocates to your jaw. Having a mode built specifically to target that, instead of just waiting it out, has made a real difference on the weeks my skin decides to rebel for no reason.
A Family Affair (Sort Of)

My 17-year-old stepdaughter deals with some acne too, and she's tried the mask when she's here, but she also has ADHD, so remembering to use it consistently is its own challenge — something I understand better than most people could. My husband has been curious about it as well. It's not just a "me" thing, even if I'm the one who actually uses it every time.

If there's one thing you'll learn about me, it's that I love finding things that make life feel a little easier.
Whether that's a travel essential, a parenting hack, a cozy self-care find, or something that simply makes me think, “Why didn't I know about this sooner?”
I'm grateful you're here and I hope you found something helpful.
Wishing you comfort, calm, and a little less overwhelm wherever life takes you.
